(learnlink, 2009-11-13) My family enjoyed watching Mei Mei's latest video. The scenery made you want to visit the area to enjoy the quiet streams and country side. Mei Mei and the children provide you with the opportunity to hear the proper pronunciation and usage of the Chinese words and phrases. The fact that the children are many different ages adds to the appeal to all ages and levels of speaking the language. This is a video that we will enjoy watching many more times as well as pass on for others to share.
(Lois Vierk, 2009-10-25) Mei Mei's new DVD "Play and Learn Chinese, Vol. 8: Let's Visit Huangshan Mountain" is just out. My daughter and I watched it and we both think it is just great. This disc is a fun and informative way to learn Mandarin Chinese sentences. It is also a beautiful and educational look at the spectacular and popular travel destination "Huangshan Mountain" in Anhui Province, and nearby Hongcun traditional Chinese village. Mei Mei Hu's DVD series offers different levels of language instruction and cultural experience. The early volumes teach very simple words and phrases with children's songs, games, dances, and they feature quite young children. As you go through the volumes, the kids in the DVDs get a little older, the situations a little more mature, and the language progresses to sentences with expanding vocabulary. Much of the material was gathered on location in China. I recommend "Let's Visit Huangshan Mountain" and all of the series to anyone wanting to learn some Mandarin Chinese. It is good instruction and it is always fun and interesting.
