(J. Phillips, 2009-11-09) Got this as this movie was better than I thought it would be. Fascinating characters and their interactions and development. A glimmer of hope in a horrific situation. It is an entertaining film, too. A good story.
(A. McClellan, 2009-09-20) This is a true event that really took place during WW11, in a small cabin, right by German front lines and not far from an American platoon, that had lost 3 of its members! And one brave women that helped bring bitter enemies together on Christmas Eve and form a truce of peace for that one blessed moment in time in 1944! A heart warming movie!
(Kenneth A. Perrone, 2009-07-19) I am actually watching this on the Hallmark Channel as I write this and boy I got a tell this is one low budget christmas movie. The acting is pretty sad and you can see Linda Hamilton looks like she is just happy to have gotten a job ( Now there is the spirit of Christmas). This story is so unbelievable that you hope a tiger tank will come soon and put and end to it. Oh joy the wound guy just woke up pointing the gun we saw him passed out with earlier gee now there is dramatic tension for ya. Well happy Christmas in July to everyone.
(Sheridan Claude, 2009-04-27) Silent Night is a beautiful rendition of a true WW2 story. I'd heard the story for years, so it was a pleasure to finally see it in video form. The story concerns three American soldiers and three German soldiers that find themselves unwillingly thrust together one Christmas Eve near the fighting front lines in Germany. They are in the isolated mountain cabin of a German woman and her young son. The woman, played wonderfully well by Linda Hamilton, insists that the men leave their weapons and grudges outside for one night. The movie is both exciting and clean, a rarity in today's moviemaking. The acting is superb all the way around, as is the filmography. I highly recommend it.
(Flyseventeenthirtytwo, 2009-04-19) I actually bought this last year after I watched the Unsolved Mysteries Series about it. I was shocked that this true story was actually turned into a movie. I stumbled upon it by accident when the movie was on tv. It's a wonderful story and it's almost impossible to turn off once you begin the movie.
