(Dara Rybalov, 2009-12-22) This is an excellent series about the history of Gnosticism, but with the added bonus that it's very relevant for those who want to go deeper into the true meaning of Gnosis and the impact it can have on your life if you actually live it. I've had an interest in Gnosis for several years now, and this is the first video resource that I've found to go into detail about the origins of gnosis, the Christian Gnostic aspect, and tie it into how modern Gnostics practice. You could easily look up the facts, dates, names, etc. mentioned in this documentary, and there are plenty of other publications out there that regurgitate this type of information, with academic theories to tie all the loose ends together, but this documentary is different. Because it is made by Gnostics, it breathes fresh life into a subject that is vast and sacred, and at the same time presents the most accurate account possible.

Kaland, 2009-12-19) Go out and look for a documentary on the Christian Gnostics or lost Christian texts like the Gospel of Judas or Nag Hammadi library - you won't be at a loss for things to check out. Now try to find one about how all of this information is applied today - suddenly, the search becomes a bit trickier. For me, Secret Quest fills that gap and provides an update to the commonly known and believed information about the Christian Gnostics and Christianity in general. We all know the Church has been involved in persecuting people in the past...but how come? What were the real reasons? What were these people doing, anyway? Secret Quest answers these questions, and, most important for me, outlines the study of Gnosis today. This, I think, is a valuable contribution to the information on Christianity in general because it's very difficult to piece together the meanings of all these ancient texts on one's own. The producers have obviously put in a lot of research and work to be able to present this information so clearly; viewers are also referred to courses they can take to begin to practice the information, which is the real goal of the video. Gnosticism, or more commonly, gnosis, has the power to change the world, but few people know enough about it to turn it into something alive for themselves. Hopefully, this documentary can reduce that number of people. In short: highly recommended!
