The railroad's got to run through the town of Rock Ridge. How do you drive out the townfolk in order to steal their land? Send in the toughest gang you've got...and name a new sheriff who'll last about 24 hours. But that's not really the plot of Blazing Saddles, just the pretext. Once Mel Brooks' lunatic film - many call it his best - gets started, logic is lost in a blizzard of gags, jokes, quips, puns, howlers, growlers and outrageous assaults upon good taste or any taste at all. Cleavon Little as the new lawman, Gene Wilder as the wacko Waco Kid, Brooks himself as a dim-witted politico and Madeline Kahn in her Marlene Dietrich send-up that earned an Academy Award nomination all give this sagebrush saga their lunatic best. And when Blazing Saddles can't contain itself at the finale, it just proves the Old West will never be the same!

Blazing Saddles [Blu-ray] Cusomter reviews:

Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 349

(Keith Mirenberg, 2009-07-31) Blazing Saddles was not my particular brand of humor but I have to admit, very funny. I rate it at four stars and Mel Brooks has never been very good at political correctness anyhow. I have heard that this movie really launched his popularity and set us all up for Young Frankenstein soon to follow.

(Joseph D. Toth, 2009-07-19) Looking for a adult comedy that'll get you laughing from the gut? Blazing Saddles will do this with no problem. Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Slim Pickens, Mel Brooks, Harvey Koreman, Madeline Kahn and more, star in this film that shows us just how silly racism can be. This classic comedy is guaranteed to generate laughs from just about anybody. My favorite scene is when they're all gathered around the camp fire and the character played by Slim Pickens tells them they had enough beans. Another favorite scene of mine is when Mongo lights his cigar in the camp fire. There's more, a lot more. The cast of actors in this film worked exceptionally well together bringing out the true definition of the word `entertainment'. This is a rated `R' film because of language and reference. Highly recommended comedy. Reporter Joseph Toth Washington Micro Bank BBS

(Rube Goldfinger, 2009-07-14) A comedy this fun and politically incorrect will never go out of style. Mel Brooks' comic direction in this is only second to "Young Frankenstein". The cast is excellent, down to the smallest part. Cleavon Little is one of the most likable heroes ever. Harvey Korman is always gets the biggest, smartest laugh. Slim Pickens is the perfect "Western" stooge. And Gene Wilder is never not brilliant. Madeline Kahn is a comic goddess. This is important cinema as well as TIMELESS entertainment.

(A. Rosendahl, 2009-07-13) Why do these film folks always have to edit out some of the best parts? If they have to edit, why don't they add it to the DVD as extra material? I have always liked this movie but I have never seen the full feature since they made it available on VHS and DVD. Other than that the DVD works well and I still enjoy this movie. I just miss the deleted parts.

(PBR Man, 2009-05-30) It is Mel Brooks at his finest. If you are not offended easily this is a true classic.
